Stereflectoskop - Voigtlander c1913 / 1930

Stereography is know by downgrading photography to the limits of the popular taste. That was on its peak at the beginning turn of the XX century. There was a revival in the 50's in USA. For artists using photography as a media, the fact that stereos where always seen as something bizarre and not as serious photography, could be an argument to show that actually we never wanted photography to be simply a reality show, otherwise stereos would have prevailed over the bi-dimensional normal pictures. Well, if you have no problems to soccumb to cheap pleasures you might like stereograms.
This is a top quality camera from Voigtlander with 3 Heliar lenses. The one in the middle sends the image to a ground glass on top for framing and focusing . The device you see in the back, like a drawer, is an ingenious mechanism that you can charge with 10 glass plates. By pulling and pushing it you send the exposed one to the back and a fresh one comes on top for new exposition.

If you want to see and learn more about stereos go to stereoscopy.com that is the source. I did not put any stereo of mine hear because I strongly recommend to do it live with real paper or ektas and not with a monitor. It is just a question of keeping the traditions.
