Rolleiflex Old Standard - Franke & Heidecke - 1932/1938

One of the legends in camera manufacturing started here. It is far from the features of the famous post war Rolleiflexes but it doens't lack magesty. Lens is an uncoated Tessar 3.5 from Zeiss Jena. Using uncoated lens one can realize that they are not always worse than coated ones whenever the subject contrast is not so high. Ansel Adams remembers that they can even help the dark areas to pass the underexposure threshold thanks to some light scattering due to multiple reflexions. Of course that a Tessar has only 4 elements in 3 groups. A modern zoon would be impossible without coating. I explained how the coating works in the page for the   Super Ikonta uncoated   have a look case you like some physics.
