After the second world war the russian took plans, machinery and technicians from Dresden to Kiev and set up there a factory to produce cameras and lenses like this one: copy of Contax. They liked so much the concept that the Kiev 4 was in production till mid eighties! Although many people say they have a poor quality this is my second Kiev (I bought because I prefer without meter) and I consider them very reliable.
