Canon FT QL - 1966/72

Once, in a forum of camera collectors, I asked what would be the F2 or OM1 of Canon. I wanted a totally mechanical SLR of that maker. I was then advised to go after the FT. So there it is.

It is a nice camera but maybe too heavy. Not in actual weight but also in design. I found that the OMs from Olympus are far more easy to handle.

I have seen controversial comments about this lens. Its detractors say it sacrifices too much in trade of this imponent 1:1.2. Other say it performs very well even fully open. I like family shots indors and I was very happy with the results.

The QL stands for Quick Load. It is a mechanism that engages the film just by closing the door.
